Considering Art in the Dark is also funded by sponsors, rate payers including the Ponsonby Business Association which I pay for and a member of. Does 23 years of being a Ponsonby Arts business plus the biggest Art Collective in NZ count for nothing?
Its a poor reflection of segments in the Arts which seems to be not about creativity or inclusion but more about ego, arrogance and greed with a very narrow view of what is considered " important art."
The Politics of Art in New Zealand, is it more about protecting ones turf and being a big fish in a small pond.?
If so NZ creativity will always be second rate, as artists will never get the experience, exposure and freedom that other industries have.
