Lorna Its easy to lose touch, to be too busy,
too distracted and just too far away.
I wish I had known you more, to have conversations like cousins have in the movies. To share a meal, stories, laughter, our children's photos and the things I make.
Being family is more than photos, names and certain occasions. Its common bonds, heritage, conversations, enjoying the good times and sharing times that are just too painful to bare alone.
The losses bringing us together again, to help fill the void, a time to remember the good memories, reflect on our own lives, renew the bonds and ponder what is really important, but most of all to be Family.
I wish I was back in my hometown sharing in the solace that family and friends bring. To listen to the stories and memories, to be near people who are your friends just so I can get a sense of what made you special to them.
My cousins hearts are breaking, they have lost a wife, a mother, a sister, an aunt, a grandmother and a cousin I want to be able to stand with them, look in their eyes, I will see their tears and they will see mine. Your Aunt Dorothy & Mavis have lost a niece and your parents their Lorna. The space you left is now being filled with memories and the happiness that you brought into the world.
I wish I could hug your Mum and say something that might have some comfort,
words will be few, but I know she will understand.
Aunty Marie and Uncle Dave, I will see you soon, words will still escape me but I think somehow just sharing a smile might say it all.
In memory of Lorna Sanders nee Ormsby 1963-2012
